Paint the Town in 2024 with the 5th Annual Painted Ponies Art Walk and Auction!

The 2023 Painted Ponies Auction raised over $90,000 for the Carolina Horse Park Foundation. During an exhilarating night of bidding the auction saw all 14 ponies find their new homes in exciting fashion, with bidding wars throughout the night. The ponies sold for a wide range of bids, from $3000 to $10,000! Thank you to everyone that participated in the auction or simply logged on to watch the action.

There are 16 Painted Ponies in 2024. They will be displayed along Broad Street in late January and will remain on display through early April. Local artists donated their time and talent to transform these sculptures into life-size works of art. It takes almost 2 months to design and create each sculpture. The artists work together with their sponsors to finalize a theme for their pony. We have 21 local businesses and Southern Pines residents sponsoring each pony. Each pony will be displayed with a plaque featuring its name, the sponsors name/s and the artists names. There is also a QR Code that will link you to this page and allow you to click on the sponsors and artists names below to learn more about them. Sandhills Community College is assisting with the Walk this year by clear coating each pony in their Collision and Automotive Center. Clear coating keeps the ponies safe in every type of weather, ensuring that the ponies’ paint always pops!

Mark your calendars now for the Saturday, April 6, LIVE Online Auction! The Auction is one of the top fundraisers for the Carolina Horse Park, which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Funds raised through the Painted Ponies Auction help maintain the Park at the top level; keep our riders and horses safe; and provide open space for equestrian and recreational activities. All events at the Park are free and open to spectators. For more details, contact Maggie Cline, Director of Development at maggie@carolinahorsepark.com.
